When we asked about toddler resorts, some of our friends said that Bluestone was even better than Center Parcs, so we had to include it on our list of best places to take toddlers! Nestled in the scenic Welsh countryside, Bluestone Wales offers a serene retreat for families with young children.

7. Ruda Holiday Park in Devon

We got given a mid-week stay here when Cam was just over a year old and we had such a great few days.  What we loved about it was that it had lots to do, but it was also only a short walk from Croyde Beach which (in our minds) is one of the best beaches in Devon.  It was one of our best UK holidays!

We stayed here when Cam was just over a year old and had a fantastic weekend.  We had one of the static caravans by the beach and it was only a very short walk to the beach itself.

This holiday park is in the coastal town of Porthcawl, Trecco Bay and is managed by Parkdean (one of the big holiday park companies).  It is a vibrant holiday park offering a fantastic seaside getaway for families with young children and toddlers. Top tip from a travel family:  Some resort have activities that must be pre-booked.  When you make your accommodation reservation always ask when the booking opens for activities and what the process is. We live near the New Forest and so we know how many cool things there are to do in Hampshire for kids which are nearby – one of our favourites Longdown Farm is only minutes from Hoburne Bashley. Hoburne Bashley is a top choice for families with young kids as they’ve not only got great outdoor activities but they also have an indoor softplay for rainy days.

31. CBeebies Land

CBeebies Land near Alton Towers was mentioned a lot when we asked our friends about toddler resorts that they’d visited and loved.  At their hotel they have these incredible themed rooms based on their favourite TV shows such as Octonauts.  They also have lots of tot friendly activities such as meet and greets with their favourite CBeebies characters with a specialised CBeebies Land theme park.  It’s perfect for 1-6 years old!

32. Legoland

Legoland also has themed rooms from various different Lego characters.  As part of their packages you get a room, park admission, in-room Lego gift, evening entertainment within the resort hotel and an option to book Legoland crazy golf at a reduced price.  Cameron loves Legoland, whilst he loves the rides, its actually the Pirate show that he loves the most – “wake up Booty” and the jet-skis.  You’ll see what we mean when you visit.

This is an epic adventure where you get to stay within the Port Lympne Safari Park with the animals right outside your accommodation when you stay over.  Kids of all ages will be wowed by the lions walking past their Lion Lodge, or watching the rhino at the bottom of the garden at the Rhino Lodge.  

There is a giraffe looking into the front of a glamping pod at Port Lympne Safari Park where you can stay near to the animals.  This is an example of one of the epic UK resorts for toddlers.

It’s not toddler specific, however, we included it as something unique to do in the UK, and because Cameron is obsessed by animals, if he had a chance to stay here, he hands down would! Booking into Port Lympne is on our wish list for a special occasion – it’s Carl’s 50th birthday soon, so perhaps that’s just the occasion we need!

We love travelling with our toddler and baby both internationally and in the UK. There are loads of cool UK resorts for toddlers out there, and some that off specific Tots Breaks. We’ve tried quite a few of them, however, since asking our friends we now have a few now to add to our list to try such as Port Lympne Safari Park and Bluestones in Wales.
